After spending a few years as a teacher I decided it was not the right career fit for me. I then worked a few different jobs and in 2014 I went back to school and received my Masters in Business Administration. Throughout my time in graduate school, I decided to do a career change and transitioned into the hospitality industry. I have always been interested in weddings and events. In 2017 I moved to Charleston, SC where I had the opportunity to work countless weddings on both the planning and operations side.
Over the years I have been invited to a number of weddings. In 2013 when I was invited to seven weddings, I made an arbitrary goal to be invited to thirty weddings by the time I turned 30 years old. Over the years I have been invited to a number of weddings. In 2013 when I was invited to seven weddings, I made an arbitrary goal to be invited to thirty weddings by the time I turned 30 years old. As years went by this became a legitimate life goal, and I became more and more excited about each wedding invitation I received. I began doing research about the wedding industry; paying particular attention to all the details of the weddings I attended and started taking notes after each wedding. My first book is written from the perspective of the wedding goer with the knowledge of a wedding planner. Throughout the book, I share all the hilarious stories from the ceremonies and wedding receptions I have attended, as well as some practical "how to" lessons in planning a wedding. Weddings can be very stressful and unfortunately can bring out the worst in people. A theme that runs throughout the book is a reminder that your wedding is only one day and things will go wrong. I encourage the brides planning their wedding to focus more on their relationship with their fiancé and their forever life together and not get too overwhelmed with all the details of planning a wedding.
